Terms of Service

Arclio is operated by Kemzang Bryan, an individual trader, reachable at kemzangbryan@gmail.com.

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for every subscription. Paddle is the seller on your receipt and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable sales tax or VAT. Paddle’s own terms apply to the payment transaction alongside these terms.

The Arclio desktop application is free and published under the MIT licence, which you can read here. Its source is public on GitHub. Downloading, converting, organising and playing media on your own machine requires no account, no payment and no internet connection beyond the sites you choose to reach.

The application relies on third-party tools, notably yt-dlp and FFmpeg, each under its own licence. It is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, as stated in the MIT licence.

Arclio is a general-purpose tool. You are responsible for how you use it and for making sure that downloading, storing or converting any given piece of content is lawful where you are and compatible with the terms of the site it comes from.

We do not host, distribute or provide access to any media content. Nothing in Arclio grants you rights over material owned by someone else.

Arclio Pro is an optional subscription covering the services that run on our servers: syncing your library across several devices, cloud backup of that library, share links and hosted AI features. Everything else stays free.

Only library metadata travels to our servers — titles, tags, collections, favourites, source URLs and playback progress. Your media files never leave your machine, and neither do the local paths to them.

A free account may sync a single device. Pro removes that limit. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from your account.

You may cancel within 14 days of a payment for a full refund. After that period, access continues until the end of the period you paid for and no partial refund is issued. The full policy is on the refund page.

We may suspend an account that abuses the service — for instance by attempting to circumvent device limits, overwhelming the sync API, or using the service to distribute unlawful material. Where the suspension is not the result of such abuse, any unused prepaid period is refunded.

You can stop using Arclio at any time. Disconnecting a device removes its access; deleting your account removes the metadata we hold for you.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the paid services is limited to the amount you paid over the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Arclio is not a backup service for your media files. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

These terms may change as the product does. Material changes affecting existing subscribers will be announced before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the last substantive revision.
